“I remember turning 30 and taking a long hard look at myself. I didn’t really like the way I had let myself go. For a lot of people, this is what happens when you settle down and have children. As anyone with a young family knows, finding the time to focus on yourself gets put to the back of the queue and any free time you do have is a time for relaxation, there isn’t time to go to the gym.
3 years later, I found that I had a little more free time. I had time to look at myself and decide who I wanted to be. Luckily, fellow HQ member and brother Fred Moore pushed me in the direction of Carl at Transformation HQ. Having not stepped into a gym for the last 10 years I was slightly apprehensive, but after my initial meeting with Carl, it quickly became apparent that I was in the right place and I was eager to begin training.
All the trainers work hard to make the sessions effective and enjoyable. With session slots available from early in the morning to late at night, it’s easy to find a session time that fits in with your life. The sessions vary throughout the week and each month new sessions replace the previous months, which prevents you getting bored of doing the same exercise and also ensures your body doesn’t get used to using the same muscle groups over and over.
I’m now 11 months into my training. 2 stone lighter and I’m stronger than I ever have been, both mentally and physically. I feel so much more confident in myself, especially having done the photo shoot. The shoot diet has given me a greater understanding of how food effects my body and I learnt a lot about myself in those 12 weeks.
It’s been fantastic to meet so many new people from all walks of life. Everyone has their own reason for being there, but at Transformation HQ there is a shared positivity that I haven’t experienced anywhere else. Every single person I have trained with is supportive, welcoming and eager to have a good laugh with you, even when your session is at 6:45am!
