At Transformation HQ we only do a small amount of direct ab exercises – however our results clearly show many body shapes with good ab definition! So what’s happening?
This is down to the big compound exercises we do such as squats, lunges, dips, pull ups, press ups.
Compound exercises use many muscles and thus burn more calories. 30 minutes of compounds exercises will burn up to 250kcal compared to 30 minutes of abs will burn 50kcal (plus give you a bad back)

So base your workout routines around the big compound moves with 5-10% of your time going on direct ab work to keep them strong!
