Christmas Damage Control Tips 

We will be tempted left, right and centre over the next couple of weeks and it’s hard to look the other way.

Yes, you should enjoy yourself and incorporate a few treats, but don’t turn into the cookie monster “because its Christmas” if you want to stay in shape over the next few weeks.

Here are some simple tips to implement over the next few weeks that allow you to have fun but maintain your body shape;

1)Keep training, for every night out on the booze you have, you need to do two workouts. This prospect of having to train more may even help you staying in for a couple of evenings!

2) Alcohol drinks can totally up calories very quickly, so you need to balance out that extra caloric intake through having smaller meals through that and the following day. Meals must consist of lean meats and vegetables only.

3) Keeping hydrated can help not only soften those alcohol binges hangovers but will help stop the cravings for more alcohol and junk food.
Aim for 2-3 litres a day minimum.

4) If you’re going to parties or out for meals – try having a protein shake made with water only before you leave your house. Have this with a piece of fruit or handful of nuts and this will stop any likely binges at parties or meals.
The extra protein and fibre will keep you satiated and less likely to overeat.

Ultimately, it’s your choice and we are all adults, we want you to have an enjoyable Christmas with friends and family but feel we need to explain the benefits of being more strategic. Don’t be the person in February/ March only just getting December’s weight & body fat off.

Following these simple tips over the next two weeks, and this should help you find the balance of enjoying yourself over Christmas whilst not undoing all of your hard work from 2016.
