You maybe tracking calories today?
You may not have a clue to start?
A lot of people (including myself) track calories on a fitness tracker app.
It has become useful habit that I don’t not even notice I’m doing – like brushing your teeth.
It allows me to hit a calorie target that will help me achieve my goal. Whether that’s to try and build a little more muscle & increase strength or to lean down & burn body fat.
It permits me to be more flexible with my food choices and include a few treats without feeling guilty, whilst in the knowledge I’m working towards my goal.
What if you really don’t want to track calories 365 days a year?
Well the answer is you don’t have too! However, it may be worth tracking for a couple of weeks.
This short-term tracking will make you aware how many calories you actually consume. This also mean tracking the bad days so you cannot bury your head in the sand!
What this short-term tracking teaches you, is how to portion your meals and what to consume in a day to achieve your goal!
To summarise – use the tracker when you feel you have gone off track & need a little help BUT trust yourself to be able to eat without relying on a app.
