Mondays are a great time to be in the gym for personal trainers.
We can start the “what happened at the weekend” inquisition.
As a gym owner and trainer, it’s my role to keep members accountable to the plan.
I know most people’s Monday – Thursdays are pretty much bang on.
It’s the Friday – Sundays where the damage occurs.
I’m not saying we have to be perfect at weekends.
Even as a trainer, we switch off and enjoy a few treats.
But when it’s a three-day blowout every weekend, it can really hold you back.
Especially when you put in so much effort in the gym throughout the week.
The weekly repeat of undoing all your hard work can be nipped in the bud with one small change.
Just one simple and easy positive change at a time.
Small changes in either direction feed themselves.
If you have quite a bit of body fat to lose, you feel a bit low and down, and then consume too much food to make you feel better.
When you get in the gym and eat well, you feel upbeat, positive and stick to your healthy living plan.
It only takes a small change in the right direction to get you back on track.
Particularly if you’ve had a bad few days recently.
If you are the person who has had a big blow out…
…this may have been the message you needed to read.
So, the small changes you could do this week are:
- Planning your gym sessions in
- Make sure meals are prepped
- Sleeping 7-9 hours
- Drinking 2-3 litres of water a day.
We all know being fit, healthy and in great shape is simple.
It’s the commitment that’s the difficult part.
But just focusing on small changes every day.
Will compound over and over until sticking to the plan seems like 2nd nature.
What’s your week going to be like?
What small positive changes can you make today?
