Some research estimates that the latest lockdowns in 2021, have added a further 15lbs on average to people’s scales.
This isn’t even taken into account last year’s extra lbs.
And I now feel that sense of panic in the air.
Everyone’s eating salads.
Training hard and often in the gym.
Swapping pints out for lower calorie drink options.
Skipping meals and starving themselves.
All with the sense of “I need to catch up”
Mostly because its warm and sunny across the UK now.
Nobody wants to be wearing the big coat and jumpers in this heat, unless you want your very own mobile sauna.
But for the guys starving themselves, pounding the pavements jogging, living off salads and generally being miserable….they will burn out and thrown in the towel very soon.
As its just too much and too difficult to maintain.
But don’t fear, it’s not an impossible task to drop the 15.
It just needs doing the correct habits, and doing them consistently.
So that means not just doing them in the week and blowing your weekends out.
Or doing one good week – then one bad week.
Doing them every week over the summer months.
Which is about 12 weeks till the beginning of September.
Follow these effective habits over the next 12 weeks, and you’ll be amazed at what they can do to your body shape and mental well-being.
- Eat 90% single ingredient foods, like our THQ meal planner suggests
- Remove trigger foods from the house (stop blaming the kids treats!)
- Strength/Resistance train at least 3 times a week
- Walk every day – especially getting out in nature
- Drink 2-3 litres of water a day
- Sleep 7-9 hours a night
Honestly, that’s it.
I know it annoys people because I’ve not given any new information.
Or recommended a new fat burning supplement.
But they work, and they work VERY well the MORE you do them.
A bit like compounding interest, they compound effectiveness and gain momentum.
Only if you do them every day.
With those habits you should be able to lose 1-2lbs a week, yet find it enjoyable and easy to follow.
As there is no miserable long winded cardio sessions, a decent amount of healthy food, and room to have the odd treat (10% of diet).
Focusing on a simple 1-2bs loss a week target & give it 12 weeks.
