THQ Success Story
Karen lost 17lbs to go from “skinny fat” to defined & toned…
Karen wasn’t a stranger to the gym; she actually had a strong passion for it.
Yet, interest had started to wane as she wasn’t seeing the results, she deserved for the effort she was putting in.
At a bit of a loss, bad habits started to creep in.
Energy levels began to dip and the body fat was accumulating.
Fortunately, she stumbled across a THQ advert…
“I’ve always been a gym goer but I’d lost my enthusiasm for exercise, I saw THQ advertised and liked the idea of doing the 6 Week Meltdown to get me motivated again. I didn’t plan on staying after the 6 weeks but by week 3, I was hooked.
My main concern was the cost as it was a lot more than my existing gym membership fee, but I can honestly say it is worth every penny, it is not comparable to a traditional gym and you get what you pay for.”
From the start, we showed that we were interested in Karen, and not just a normal gym where members are often ignored.
Our ethos is to guide & support, not just give a training program for members to do on their own.
Anyone who is looking at starting with THQ is invited to a no-commitment consultation.
Not only do we show you around, but we also get to find out more about you.
On Karen’s consultation, she told us this…
“I’ve always classed myself as being ‘skinny fat’ i didn’t have a lot of weight to lose but I could never shift those last few pounds to look leaner. I wanted to lose any excess weight and tone up.”
We immediately knew that if we tidied up Karen’s diet, and showed her how to train to build muscle, we would have her looking amazing in no time.
Upon starting at THQ, a nutritional framework was given so that meals didn’t have to be bland.
But rather tasty, exciting and easy to follow. Making Karen feel full & satiated at all times.
Karen was assigned her very own personal trainer who checked in with her once a week to make sure she was on track.
Her training was also improved.
She trained in small groups of no bigger than six people at one time.
Karen had to come in to train with us three times a week for just 45 minutes.
All her training was weight/resistance based & she had a trainer with her at all times.
“I liked the small class environment, it means the trainer can be very hands on, it’s almost like having a PT session. The trainers are all very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable and make sure you are doing the exercises correctly to avoid any injuries, you are never left to your own devices.”
“(The) Constant variation in workouts, the camaraderie with trainers and other members and being pushed/coached to better myself. I have also gained a new set of like-minded friends through THQ.”
We often see members making great friends and supporting one another. Offering ideas, support and general encouragement.
THQ has an environment where we are all “in it together” and you won’t find any cliques or unwelcoming people.
Having this supportive environment from members and trainers, seeing herself get leaner & lighter, whilst getting fitter & stronger – was enough for Karen to believe that THQ and weight training was for her.
She stayed on after her 6 weeks to continue results.
Karen was then encouraged to start a 12-week shoot. The shoot is a more advanced version of the 6 Week Meltdown.
We train the same but increase frequency from 3 times a week, up to 5 just before her shoot.
And nutrition is made more laser-focused, as we teach members how to track calories and macronutrients for optimal results.
Karen now had all the knowledge, support and understood how to eat & train to change her body shape.
To make it more defined, toned, fitter & stronger.
Her photo’s shows that it really does work!
Karen was only 9st when starting, so didn’t have a lot of weight to lose.
But still wanted to drop as much body fat as possible.
At the end of the shoot, she was 7 stone 11lbs.
She even managed to raise her calories UPWARDS after her shoot had finished and still maintained this weight.
Showing how important it is to build muscle, you get to eat more food & still look great!
If that’s not enough to get you starting weight training or enquiring for a place at THQ, we asked Karen what would she say to anyone thinking about putting a request to find out more…
