Transformation HQ Success Story

Richard Lost 22 Pounds. But That’s Not The Best Part!

Richard didn’t need somebody to tell him exercise was good for him.

He didn’t need another complicated diet, another random workout or another promise to himself that he’d get properly back into shape soon.

His problem was much simpler.

“Consistency.”

It’s something a lot of men recognise as they get older.

You still want to look good.

You want to feel strong and athletic.

You know what you should be doing.

But training becomes inconsistent, food gets less organised and gradually you find yourself carrying more weight than you’d like.

You make another effort.

Things improve for a while.

Then life gets in the way.

Before you know it, another year has gone.

And there’s a dangerous point where you can start accepting it as part of getting older.

Richard could have done that.

Instead, he joined Transformation HQ.

He started with our 6-Week Meltdown, and rather than trying to change everything overnight, his target was simple.

Three coached small group personal training sessions each week.

A straightforward meal plan.

Accountability.

And six weeks of actually being consistent.

For Richard, something clicked quickly.

“From day one, I felt at home.”

That might sound like a small thing, but it matters.

Because you can have the best training programme ever written, but if you don’t enjoy where you train, don’t feel comfortable there and have nobody expecting you to turn up, it becomes very easy to stop.

Richard found somewhere he wanted to keep coming back to.

And instead of constantly searching for the next diet or workout, he started doing the basics properly.

His approach to food is a good example.

“Plan meals in advance so you’re not ill-prepared. I used the app but still wrote my meals down.”

Nothing extreme.

He planned ahead.

He knew what he was eating.

And when it came to training, his advice is equally straightforward:

“Hit the three sessions a week. Listen to your body.”

That consistency started producing the physical change he wanted.

And that’s where his story gets more interesting.

Because Richard didn’t treat the end of his six weeks as the finish line.

The 6-Week Meltdown had done its job.

It gave him structure, got him training consistently and created momentum.

So Richard continued with Transformation HQ on our monthly rolling membership.

There’s no long contract.

Members continue month to month, with ongoing coaching and structure to help stop that familiar slide back into old habits.

And Richard now had something he’d been missing before.

A focus.

As he puts it:

“Moving on into old age 🤣, it’s nice to have a focus.”

There’s a lot packed into that little joke.

Getting older is unavoidable.

Gradually giving up on your fitness isn’t.

You don’t suddenly lose the right to care about how you look because you’ve reached a certain age.

You can still want to lose the belly, build some muscle, feel fitter and look sharp when you take your shirt off.

You can still set yourself a physical challenge.

For Richard, his next challenge was the 12-Week Shoot.

It’s an advanced phase available to Transformation HQ members who are ready to push things further, with increased training, tighter nutrition and a professional photoshoot waiting at the end.

Doing his first Shoot became one of Richard’s standout achievements.

Think about the difference.

The man who summed up his old struggle with one word “consistency” had now built enough consistency to take his training all the way through to a professional physique photoshoot.

And lost 22 pounds along the way.

That’s the real transformation.

It wasn’t finding some secret exercise.

It wasn’t banning carbs.

It wasn’t spending hours every night in a gym.

Richard finally had a structure he could follow consistently.

That’s also why simply joining another normal gym often doesn’t solve this problem.

Access to hundreds of thousands of pounds’ worth of equipment isn’t much use if you’re still deciding what to do every time you walk through the door.

Classes can get you exercising, but simply completing different workouts each week doesn’t necessarily give you the individual coaching and progression you’re missing.

At the other end of the scale, paying for one-to-one personal training three times every week can become expensive very quickly, and you still need a plan for everything that happens outside those sessions.

Richard didn’t need any of that.

He needed something simple enough to follow and structured enough to keep him moving forward.

Three coached sessions each week.

Get his meals organised.

Keep turning up.

Then build from there.

And that’s exactly what he did.

The physical difference is obvious.

He’s lighter, leaner and his clothes fit differently.

But perhaps the bigger change is that fitness has given him something positive to work towards as he gets older.

Richard’s own advice to somebody thinking about starting is probably better than anything we could write:

“Just do it. A great bunch of people, always having a laugh.”

If Richard’s old problem sounds familiar, ask yourself how long you’ve already been saying you’ll sort it.

Maybe you’ve joined gyms before.

Maybe you’ve had spells where you’ve trained hard and eaten well, only to end up back where you started.

Maybe you’re still reasonably active, but when you look in the mirror you know you’re capable of being in much better shape than you are now.

You probably don’t need another year of thinking about it.

And you don’t need to commit your entire life to fitness either.

Start with six weeks.

Three coached sessions a week.

Get your food organised.

Have somebody keeping you accountable.

Give yourself a proper run at being consistent and see what happens.

Richard didn’t need another complicated fitness plan.

He needed to become consistent.

Twenty-two pounds later, that’s exactly what happened.

The next six weeks are going to pass anyway.

You can spend them telling yourself you’ll start soon.

Or you can finally put a date on it.
