Ice Cream On Warm Days

Wow, hasn’t it been lovely and warm this week?

The kind of weather that makes you crave something sweet and cold, like a delicious ice cream.

I know the feeling all too well!

There’s nothing like the heat to get you daydreaming about indulging in a sweet, creamy treat.

You’re probably reading this in a hot office or maybe on a break in a bustling factory, thinking the same thing.

When it’s warm like this, I always get an urge to reach for ice cream.

While it’s tempting to grab that high-calorie ice cream bomb, I like to keep a stash of smarter options in my freezer.

Trust me, it’s a lifesaver.

Instead of going overboard, I’ve got some great low-calorie alternatives that satisfy my cravings without derailing my fitness goals.

You see, I’ve been there.

I recently did a photoshoot and got those abs popping, and yes, I ate ice cream and even enjoyed an alcoholic drink or two during the 12 weeks.

If carbs or sugar were the enemy, that wouldn’t be possible, right?

Some well-known experts tell us to never eat sugar and go zero carbs.

What a life, eh?

The key is balance and making smarter choices, not cutting out food groups entirely.

Here’s a quick comparison from a little bit of recent research to show how easy it is to make a smarter swap:

High-Calorie Ice Creams on a Stick

  • Haagen-Dazs Caramel Cone Ice Cream Bar: 260 calories per bar
  • Dove Bar Vanilla Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate: 250 calories per bar
  • Magnum Double Caramel: 257 calories per bar

Low-Calorie Ice Creams on a Stick

  • Mini Milk Vanilla: 30 calories per lolly
  • Twister Mini: 39 calories per lolly
  • Halo Top Sea Salt Caramel: 80 calories per bar

Instead of reaching for the high-calorie options, you can enjoy a Mini Milk Vanilla or a Twister Mini and save yourself a bunch of calories without feeling deprived.

Imagine turning down an ice cream with your children because your diet doesn’t allow it.

These little swaps can make a big difference!

Tracking your energy intake is the key to having these treats and losing body fat.

It only takes about 5 minutes a day.

Eat single-ingredient healthy foods most of the time, and keep your favourite treats in your diet.

It’s all about balance and making choices that support your goals while allowing you to enjoy life.

For example, imagine you’ve just finished a tough day at work and you’ve stuck to your healthy eating plan all week.

You’re in the mood for something sweet and cold to reward yourself.

You open the freezer and see the Haagen-Dazs Caramel Cone Ice Cream Bar at 260 calories per bar, the Dove Bar Vanilla Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate at 250 calories per bar, and the Magnum Double Caramel at 257 calories per bar.

Tempting, right?

But you know that indulging in one of these too often could set back your fitness goals.

Instead, you reach for a Mini Milk Vanilla at just 30 calories per lolly, a Twister Mini at 39 calories per lolly, or a serving of Halo Top Sea Salt Caramel at 80 calories as still be in calorie deficit that day – meaning weight/fat loss target met.

These options are satisfying and won’t derail your progress.

It’s all about making smarter choices that still allow you to enjoy the sweet treats you love.

And let’s be honest, who doesn’t crave ice cream when it’s hot outside?

But the trick is to have a plan and stock up on the better options or know what to grab at the shop.

That way, you can indulge without the guilt.

You don’t have to give up your favourite foods to stay in shape.

It’s all about moderation and making informed choices.

If you’re sitting there thinking, “This sounds great, but I don’t have time to track my calories,” I promise you, it’s easier than you think.

There are so many apps out there that make it quick and simple.

Spend just 5 minutes a day tracking your intake, and you’ll be amazed at how much more control you feel over your diet.

Plus, when you see the numbers, it becomes much easier to make those smarter choices.

Remember, it’s not about cutting out carbs or banning sugar entirely.

Myself and the guys on the shoots are living proof that you can enjoy these things and still achieve your fitness goals.

Focusing on whole, single-ingredient foods most of the time and allowing yourself treats in moderation can help you maintain a healthy and satisfying diet.

Alright, I’m off to Tesco to stock up on some Halo Top.

Stay cool and enjoy your treats responsibly!
