Why ‘Perfect Timing’ Is Keeping You Stuck

Last week, we lost two inspirational figures in the world of sport.

Eddie Jordan, the Formula 1 team principal, and George Foreman, the legendary boxer.

Two completely different men from completely different worlds.

It doesn’t matter if you know who they are or if you like them.

Because they have a lesson for us all.

They both shared the same powerful message:

They didn’t wait for the perfect moment…they just started.

Eddie Jordan wasn’t born wealthy.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, he started life as a bank clerk at the Bank of Ireland.

During a banking strike in Dublin, Eddie temporarily moved to Jersey, where he discovered kart racing.

Returning to Dublin, he bought his own kart and, by 1971, had won the Irish Kart Championship.

Through sheer determination, Eddie built an entire Formula 1 team from scratch.

Jordan Grand Prix debuted in 1991, achieving immediate success, finishing fifth in their first year and climbing to third in the World Championship by 1999.

Eddie famously gave Michael Schumacher his first break in Formula 1.

Eddie never paused for perfect circumstances because he knew those moments never truly arrive.

George Foreman had a similar journey.

Born into poverty in Texas, Foreman had a troubled youth.

He dropped out of school at 15, often getting into street fights and petty crime.

At 16, Foreman joined the Job Corps, where he learned how to box.

This guidance transformed his life, leading him to win an Olympic gold medal in 1968.

In 1973, Foreman became the heavyweight boxing champion by defeating Joe Frazier.
Remarkably, Foreman reclaimed the heavyweight title in 1994 at age 45 after retiring and returning to boxing, becoming the oldest heavyweight champion ever.

Yet, his greatest success wasn’t in boxing but with the George Foreman Grill.

A product that sold over 100 million units and is likely hiding somewhere in your kitchen cupboards.

I do enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon watching Formula 1.

Eddie Jordan was always a bit of an interest to me, not just for his sporting achievements but also for his entrepreneurial spirit, and he was a bit of a character.

He proved that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things.

It’s the same with George Foreman.

My dad once told me about watching George Foreman’s historic fight against Muhammad Ali, and it has always stuck with me and interested me.

Two legendary fighters refused to wait, determined to make their mark.

It was about courage, ambition, and taking action even when conditions weren’t perfect.

These stories hit home because I often hear something similar from gym members or people enquiring about starting at Transformation HQ.

Many people say, “I’d love to try your 12-week shoot (or 6 Week Meltdown for people just wanting to start up), but I have a holiday coming up,” or, “I have kids at home,” or, “There’s a birthday weekend soon, maybe after that.”

Here’s the truth: every person you see on our website or social media proudly showing off their incredible transformation had those same hurdles.

They had weekends away, holidays booked, birthdays to celebrate, and families to care for.

Yet, they didn’t pause their goals to get in the best shape possible; they worked around these moments.

I’ve even watched single mums juggle part-time jobs and parenting, still smashing a 12 week shoot with us.

You see, the perfect time simply doesn’t exist.

Life is busy, messy, and unpredictable.

Waiting for your calendar to magically clear for six months before starting a healthier lifestyle guarantees only one thing…you’ll never start.

The best transformations I’ve seen come from people who stopped waiting.

They accepted that birthdays, holidays, and life’s everyday chaos will always happen.

Rather than fighting it, they embraced the imperfection and started anyway.

And guess what?

They felt incredible, not just physically but mentally liberated too.

There’s something incredibly empowering about knowing you didn’t let life’s everyday distractions keep you from achieving your goals.

So, if you’re reading this, ask yourself: what are you waiting for?

Forget perfect timing.

Like Eddie Jordan building his racing team from nothing or George Foreman chasing dreams his family doubted, your moment to start is right now.

Make today your first step toward better health, fitness, and the life you want to live.

Because the perfect moment to start never arrives.

It’s created by you, right now.
